Yes, time can be made to go backward.
It is just so specific it is not likely to happen on its own.

What are your thoughts on the simulation hypothesis?
@PeaceContagion I think it is absurd but so is every other explanation. Maybe quantum mechanics is just a flaw in the program. Or said another way, maybe something they just didn't bother to account for that part in the simulation.
Yeah, I can't rule it out. I think it is unlikely but ...
@PeaceContagion I am not a quantum physicist, but I do model physics/physical systems. As a computer scientist I have always felt that the simulation hypothesis was a bit "god of the gaps". I.e. "we don't quite get this bit, so somebody smarter than us must have made it". The thing about the god of the gaps is that history has proven that we tend to close those gaps eventually.
