I'm starting to miss the work of science again. My current job is all IT, servicing customers who do mostly accounting and bookkeeping. Occasionally I work with those who do drafting and bid designs. AutoCAD, blueprints and such.
But my own research is suffering from lack of time and resources, just like any conventional scientist.
It's been months since I've been to Mars (analyzing satellite imagery), set up my telescope, or held a Pipette. Withdrawal symptoms are setting in
You, sir, are a masochist! what sane person would like to fail 999 times, only to sort of get marginal p=0.049 once ? Or maybe you like not sleeping, and when you do sleep - seeing things your exhausted, overworked, and over-thinking brain gives you? Like blue eyed zombies that sound like Acquity start up, or giving seminars only to realize you forgot how to speak, and no one can hear you. Or maybe attending poster sessions, with other people's topics so obscure and so fascinating compared to what you do... oh wait. Or maybe thinking of one. fucking. line of code for two weeks? Still? How about doing 3 days worth of bench work to only have its results as a half of a sentence in a manuscript? Ha.Ha. yes, I am mean like that
