Not just working to get there. But, actually testing to make it safe. And so far it seems to have been successful.
IMHO, this test was a brilliant idea.
Can't view it here.
Here is another one, maybe this one you can see.
@TristanNuvo Thank you: that one is very good!
@ToolGuy I was wondering that myself. Did some digging, and it was not as bad as I thought. The propellant is a refined kerosene, (which is a fossil fuel), and O2. They estimated that is is about the same emissions as 3 passenger flights from NYNY, to LA. Where that is quite a bit. it is really a drop in the bucket when you consider just how many passenger flights there are every day. Plus it is less than most other previous rockets.
I do know that SpaceX, as well as others have been working on alt, fuels. I like that they are keeping that in mind.
This reminds me of when the Challenger exploded.
Me too. But I think that was the point, to safeguard the people in case of any failure.
@TristanNuvo Yeah, I know. All of this should have been done before the shuttle program was ended. Depending on the Russians is something we never should have done.
Posted by racocn8I saw some articles on meteorite composition and ended up with this picture.
