Wasteful tests
My insulin pump is out of warrenty, has some issues and is a regular pain in my life. So, i am getting a new one, hopefully better. To my great surprise, the new Endo doctor I see now ordered a whole series of blood tests`. I just had those done 3 weeks ago!
He also ordered a C peptide test, the one that insurance companies insist on when approving an insulin pump. OK, that's how I got the first pump, 15 years ago. Do they expect that that value got better? That beta cells regrow? That the pancreas has some hidden reservoir to spring into action?
These tests are expensive, so why do them again?
