Paula Vennels who as head of the Post Office destroyed the lives of hundreds of sub postmasters by refusing to admit that the new computer programme was faulty is also a church minister. Well well. so much for Christian compassion
I have listened to parts of the first two days of the current phase of the Horizon Inquiry. It has become clear to me that Paula Vennells was in denial of things she was informed of at the time, and her preference for reputation over facts still remains.
Is it the arrogance of computer buffs who think their programs were beyond reproach . Equally the church minister who would never dare to delve into such dark arts.
Scandalous that she pressed ahead with the prosecutions, and the ruination of so many honest, hard working people, instead of stopping them, when it must have become clear that the computer accounting system needed to be thoroughly investigated as to why it was throwing up so many discrepancies and shortfalls.
I don’t see any connection between her Christian ministry and her former role as head of the Post Office, except to say her judgment is questionable, which is a character trait that she will bring to any job.
No ? She has spoken about Faith in Business and how Jesus is her guide in what she does, as a review of one of her speeches records
@Moravian Then she’s delusional, and that’s why her judgment is questionable. A belief in the supernatural as her guide in business should have be a warning to any organisation considering employing her in any business position, especially one of power or command...such as putting her in charge of the Post Office. It makes one wonder about their judgement too.
@Moravian So she refers to a 2,000 Jewish zombie for her business decisions? That sure explains a lot!
