Another sexual abuse scandal at two of the top Catholic Public Schools in England. Today a report by Dr. Alexis Jay has condemned Ampleforth N. Yorks. and Downside Somerset for cases going back for over 40 years of abuse conducted by teachers and Benedictine Monks. They had consistently covered up the claims and labelled the complainants sinners. Today for the first time they have offered an apology to their victims. The fees paid to be educated at these establishments ranges from £16,000 to £35,000 per annum.

It has reached pandemic proportions. They have no shame, but still the faithful are travelling from all over to Dublin this weekend to see the Pope!
The Roman Catholic Church have been covering up this abuse for decades.Watched it on the news,glad you posted this.?

@Marionville There has been a few exposed this year.
We need to punish, not only the sexual offenders but all those involved in the coverups, of which there have been many. And I even think the church itself should be held to legal account and punished. And no exception to be made to knowledge obtained through confessional,. If a priest hears an admission of abuse they should be under the same obligation as anyone else to report it.

Yes, I think it is high time some Bishops and Cardinals were prosecuted as they have continually protected these deviants and were complicit in all the evil acts perpetrated on children supposed to be in their care.
Remember Ampleforth, I think that they considered that our school was out of their league or if we did play them their teams invariably thrashed us.

Poor guys were possibly going back to be abused little did you know! These boarding schools are all going to be fertile ground for perverts.
@Marionville Good British upper class educational system, heirs are to be produced but not seen so pack them off to boarding school. The hierarchical system is beaten into them there particularly in church schools and sexual delights are encouraged but can only be satisfied in one of three ways in single sex schools...self, homosexual and bestiality. Queen Victoria had cognitive dissonance over lesbianism so it was never criminalised.
@Marionville And who is to say that they didn't enjoy it? I some times wonder about some of the "me too" complainers - you do not ride a horse expecting to never fall off!
