Last night the commons voted to avoid a "no deal" exit from the EU but apparently the vote it has no legal standing so Theresa is going to go back to Europe again and try to get a better deal. Reminds me of the old adage. "The definition of insanity is to get doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result"

Yes but the politicians would lose face and we can't have that.

I bet the decision would have been legally binding if the vote had gone the other way, PM May seems determined to go down in history as the woman who destroyed the UK and ruined Britain.

What I don’t get, and feel free to call me Mr Stupid, if the UK is supposed to leave on 29 March why isn’t it just cut and dried that it leaves on 29 March. How would there be time for another referendum? I think I must be missing something here.

@Lennie Apparently she is going to have another vote next week. Third time lucky ?. I hope not. I would like to see a long extension and then have article 50 kicked into touch.

One of the amendments to an amendment was to delay leaving and have another referendum but it was soundly beaten.Another vote which won by a narrow margin was to ask for a delay. I think although I am now totally confused.

@Moravian Sarah Woolaston blew it by insisting on that amendment far too early. She should have waited until all the other possibilities had been voted on. But no doubt it will reappear next week or the week after.
