Shore up Hadrian’s Wall from the Caledonian side and start talking with the French again like in the Auld Days. Bring out your Rabbie for readings to instil patriotic passion (even if he was a southerner from Dumfries), and re-invent ‘Bruce and loyal Wallace’. And finally remake Braveheart with proper Scots people. (Although born in England I have two ancestors died at the Battle of Flodden alongside James IV the last king to die in the field!). My loyalties are pretty firmly set!
@Geoffrey51 Yes ....and blast out “Scot’s Wha’ Hae” from the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle....that would stiffen the resolve of any Scot. It brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it! We used to march into primary school singing it at the top of our lungs...if you don’t know that Burns piece, I think you should google it and you’ll see what I mean.
