Presumably atheists don't waste their time doing worship and other DubiousThings©, so I propose that going out to ticketed concerts and gigs.
I’m just back from rehearsing with my choir, for our forthcoming series of concerts,and am going to see my favourite band a-ha at the SSE Arena Belfast on Wednesday.
What makes you think that we don't already go to "ticketed" concerts and gigs? Or that we don't actually perform in "ticketed" concerts and gigs?
@OwlInASack Why are you laughing at my musical experiences?
"What makes you think that we don't already go to "ticketed" concerts and gigs? Or that we don't actually perform in "ticketed" concerts and gigs?"
Nothing at all. Though I could have worded my post better, I though the meaning was clear.
Though I have a question: why do you put ticketed in inverted commas? Either a gig is ticketed, or it isn't. Or am I being pedantic?
@GuyJohnson You used the word "ticketed". In my area there are many free gigs featuring high quality musicians. I was differentiating between reality and what you wrote. I think that concludes this conversation.
@Red_Cat Hi, you do realise that this is a general remark and obviously can't apply to all gigs and concerts*? And not meant to e insulting?
I shall try to clarify:
A) Ticketed means paying to attend a gig.
B) It means that working musicians who can pull a crowd earn a better fee,
C) paying to see an act respects the performers as professional entertainers.
D) Free-to-get-into gigs give (almost always) less money to the musicians,
E) trains the public to expect music for free.
*Exceptions, which are fairly obvious:
@GuyJohnson Sorry, could you repeat that?
@Red_Cat "that"
@GuyJohnson Goodbye twat.
