Has this season of Brexit jumped the shark? It seems that since they got rid of the Maybot and replaced her with that pantomime villain I just can't get into it. It all seems so contrived as if they had all these loose ends and needed to find a way to tie them up quickly for the finale.
Anyone else finding willing suspension of disbelief more of a challenge lately?

Nothing has been in the slightest bit entertaining.

At the very least we need a long pause to revise voting procedures , communications between constituents and their MEPs, written constitutions, new rules of Parliament, Dialogue, logic and reasoning training, Plain English, Local focus groups permanently established by civil servants ... where do I end?? ........Preferably after several years . Then make a decision after deciding how we got into this mess,

It seems the usual story of people reacting and forcing a rebellion before they hav a solid plan or all the details have been worked out. So many countries start a revolution with a simple goal (usually removing a dictator) and then, afterward, look around and say, now what. Can we not learn from past mistakes or mistakes from others???

The serious problem with this attitude is that it is exactly how a significant minority of people ARE treating the who brexit mess AS A GAME.
It is not a game
it is the future of the nation
It is the lives and wellbeing of our families
it is the economic future

The encouragement of people to think of it as something just to get done and go away is evil, it is rule of totalitarian by fatigue, the "Oh look just cut off my head, its got to be better than the interminable waiting for the blade to fall"

The problem is of course that if the Brexit show is cancelled with a crash out, we do not go back to how thing were before we get Brexit anyway and all the consequences there of, simply because we got bored!

I may not be a believer in the power of prayer but some of the serenity prayer seems to be quite well intended.
"Give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other"
What I can do I have done. I have cast my vote, I've written my letters, I've made my opinion known to friends and relatives. What wisdom I might have tells me I should not stress further on what is beyond my control but serentiy I do not have. Until then, or until I find myself with another means to make a small difference please don't deny me my humour. Without it I'd go mad and who knows, perhaps mockery can contribute to the cause after all.

@MattHardy I'll make jokes about almost anything, but this...this is beyond mockery, for mockery will only lessen the import of the situation and this situation is too fucking dangerous for generations to come to be in any way lessened, or made light of.
Get this wrong and people are going to die because of it, not just die but die in the worst ways possible, death by easily curable disease, starvation, poverty, street violence and possibly even civil war.

@MattHardy But the most Human thing I can possibly do is find out how, why and when I can possibly change my mind
How: SAY it out loud to as many people as possible.
WHY: I have examined each facet of BREXIT and researched and enquired with polls about each one separately and drawn separate conclusions together in summing up what is really best for the country, NOT an individual and NOT a party. (NB this is the best course for an MP and MEP + Ireland, Scotland and Wales
WHEN ...... NOW.

@LenHazell53 I think you over estimate my power. I've done what I can. I continue to do so. I mock too. If you think my gallows humour has the power to do anything more than help me navigate through these crazy times I'll mock you too. trust me, no one's going to die because I tell a joke. And those that do suffer and die from tory austerity and brexit will not thank you for diverting your ire from the real culprits in order to take pot shots at me.

@Mcflewster good on you. Keep up the good work.

Nothing that the Tories do is remotely amusing, this present mess we find ourselves in is just another chapter in a long saga of miscalculations and bad judgement. The Tories brought this whole sorry disaster down on us when Cameron decided we were going to have a simple binary choice referendum...in order to lance the festering boil of Euroscepticism on his back benches, and to stop Nigel Farage from taking Tory votes. It’s been a Tory fiasco from beginning to end, and each and every one of them need to be voted out of office. It is still all about the Tories and only the Tories, it always was and it always will be. They can be guaranteed to do what is in their own interest and to hell with the rest of us. “We are not amused” to quote Queen Victoria, by the present impasse, but even at this eleventh hour if we can stop Boris taking us out of the EU without a deal, then Parliament is doing its duty.

Exactly. I couldn't have put it any better than that.

Regarding the binary referendum: wrong questions. OUT should not have been one of them.

@Red_Cat There should have been no referendum...it was sheer stupidity.

@Marionville Agreed.

@Marionville The whole thing was based on Camerons arrogant belief that he could not be wrong and that there was no chance of a leave vote winning.
He failed to realise that years of tory rule, bias, institutionalised racism and Thatcherite British nationalism masquerading as patriotism had doomed his plan from the get go.

@LenHazell53 yes...completely miscalculated and then walked out in a strop leaving this mess behind.

@Marionville A coward on top of all else.

@LenHazell53 A Tory Toff...what do you expect?
