Keir Starmer: ensuring that Labour remains unelectable!!
I feel that an interview on the merits of how Sir Keir Starmer will fare, in uniting the party after the most disastrous electoral defeat in Labour’s history, after only two days in the job as new leader, is premature to say the least. This opinion of the guy from the Henry Jackson Society cannot be based on anything except his own personal view and therefore completely worthless in my eyes. My own feeling about the northern voters lost to the Tories is that when they see that the Tories haven’t really changed their spots at all, and judging by the make-up of Boris’s cabinet, they most definitely haven’t, then they will realise the mistake they made in voting Tory. Starmer has a lot of ground to make up, but I can’t see anyone else who has a better chance to make Labour electable, can you?
A reasonable assessment M. As you say time will tell. However, such was the sense of betrayal instilled by Corbyn, particularly in the north of England, that Starmer has a mighty uphill battle to win back those voters. Appointing Lisa Nandy as shadow Foreign Secretary is a huge mistake in my opinion and don't get me started on the arch man-hater Jess Phillips. I can see no-one in the forefront of Labour at the moment who even approaches competency or likeability so again I defer to your point that time will tell. Watch this space time I guess. Thank you for your comment and insight.

Posted by MattHardyA Boris promise is just a lie that hasn't happened yet. Whatever Sue Grey says, no way is Boris going to admit he lied and resign.
