Joined UU in York, PA but rarely go. Thought I’d find many like minds, but they seemed to argue a lot. Is that common? Many are great- just have not travelled the 20 miles on Sunday to get adjusted, I’m guessing? Went to UU congregation in Layfayette, CO and liked it a lot! Just hoping to find other folks of same mindset- too many “mature” (hate to say old) people are so set in their ways and have very closed minds- maybe I do too because I no longer put up with crap I did before retirement! Ha ha ha
I went there years ago. Was a much better program / place. Like any organization different people take over. Not sure now what is happening. Gettysburg has a tiny group and Lancaster has a large one. I've not been involved in years, so can't say anything. You have moved to the Alabama part of Pennsylvania as James Carvel once described the place: Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and Alabama in between. Best wishes. I'm currently back and forth from that area briefly to Chicago.
I will have to investigate the one in Gettysburg. I go there at least once, often twice a week for meetings. Yes, south central PA is mostly Pensyltucky! However there are libs and non-believers to be found! I just don’t know too many. 🥴
Been to 2 in Harrisburg, Wyoming Valley, Erie and the one by the river full of rocks
Been to 218 UU societies....this time of year is ripe for arguing over annual budgets....many have hUUmanists groups meeting there many are also church members but UU WORLD has been hostile to Atheists documented 20 years now....not burning my bridges but they create a climate of silence for Atheists not friendly to requests for faith evidence

Posted by Eagle61Ditching the Nestle-made bottled water for a while in exchange for regular old tap water; bottled water sometimes 'enlarges my prostrate' and sends me to the bathroom a couple of times overnight!🤔...
Posted by UUNJHad a first today: was singing a song at my Uu church when a visitor passed out and slumped onto her daughter.
