What do you guys think about last night's missile attack on our military at Iraq from Iran?
If the attacks continue, I hope trump does not follow Carter in not addressing the combined house and Senate to ask for a declaration of war.
War has many faces.
It unites, solidifies resolve.
There is much more to war than guns, boots, and bombs. A complete blockade (air, sea, land, financial) is a good starting point. No need to shoot. Isolate.
If Carter had asked Congress for a declaration of war we would not be talking about Iran today. We'd all be BFF...There might even be a trump towers right next to the blue mosque in Tehran
ffs. I hope you are trying to be ironic
This is personal for me, as I have a dear friend and colleague, Oregon National Guard, stationed in Qatar. The assignment never made sense, deployed in September to guard/assist in rebuilding an older airbase there. There was no hazard pay attached to the assignment.
She's a career soldier, transitioned to this from 8 yrs/3 deployments as a Marine. Joining Guard was intended to avoid conflict deployments, and I think of her constantly, like a daughter to me.
It is the reaction the tRump wants. Now, we have to retaliate. We wait and see if the response will be measured or not. I think not.
