just my thought on this. What makes people evil? ( Don't mean in a religious sense. For
Lack of another word).. Chemical imbalances in the brain, How they have grown up and treated;Genetic inheritance. What's your thoughts?
nurture and nature. we are all capable under the right circumstances of murder etc. just look at chimps.
@HardBlues69 I thought you were asking rather than stating. people are not that nice really compared to say ants or sheep or elephants. nurture and nature.
A reality shift caused by trauma, stress, a chemical imbalance in the brain or drug/alcohol abuse. This is my best guess but the root of all evil comes from the Bible, doesn't it?
@Pennworthy8
I haven't read the bible. I only cherry pick from the bible to show how immoral it is. If you enjoy the Bible you agree with Exodus 21 completely? Sorry, I disagree with Exodus 21 completely. What moral standard do we receive from Exodus 21? I don't trust the Bible, my moral standards are higher.
There are many more examples and contradictions in the Bible. Where and when was evil introduced into this world?.... hellO Bible! I'm not evil! I don't even know what it means. I don't believe in magic or any Gods. You could say I'm lost but I say I'm found. Take away the burden of religion and just watch the world heal itself. Does this scare you? You have no confidence in our own accomplishments as evolving human beings.
I don't know what rules you're referring to. “laws or commandments do preserve life”?I don't need a book to give me a rule that shows rape, etc is immoral. As I said, I haven't read the Bible I only cherry pick. When people depend on a book to guide their lives it scary. Doesn't God tell you what to do or do you just do the right thing anyway?
I think that evil people are born that way. It comes from selfishness and gets worse with age.
It is a mystery. That's why the religious explanation has so much appeal.
Posted by Ray13I just joined this group, thought it would be best one to post something like this: Thought this might interest some of my fellow agnostics - I just donated my 160th pint (total 20 gallons) of blood...

Posted by Reason-AbleI’m 54 and bored. I needed a project and decided to buy a truck and make it my project. I’ve been adding little mods to it every weekend. Any other vehicle enthusiasts in the group?

Posted by flower_nutMy mother's best friend worked for the local newspaper and decided to dress me as a leprechaun and use it for Saint Patrick's Day. I was a smiling leprechaun, whatever that was?
