I'm getting the urge to take a trip to nowhere. To just take off and drive in a direction and meander along a path of discovery. I need a break from this society, from the news, from life. October is looking promising for such a trip.

Micmac Native willing to sell my property in town and find my log cabin to hunt and fish and collect edibles from the back yard

Sounds fun! You should let us know where you are meandering...I did a trip to Nashville last year and meandered around and met people that I knew from another site along the way...it was cool to meet online friends...and maybe you could get a free meal as well! lol

One May, several years ago, I mentioned to my other half that the geology field camp I used to attend would be leaving on their annual trip soon. I waxed poetic about how much I missed it, and he suggested we take some time off and just get out of town.
We bought some new gear and left a few days later. It was glorious, I got to show off all my favorite national parks, and he got to see the western half of the US for the first time. We are no longer at an age where we can just up and do something like that, unfortunately, but that trip is filled with great memories and beautiful mental pictures. It was much easier to settle back into regular life after several weeks of wandering.
I hope you enjoy your sabbatical just as much!!
