"Malpractice"

He doesn't look me in the eyes
But once or twice with steely glare
I try to tell him how I feel
He cuts me off. He doesn't care.

He doesn't ask me where it hurts
Just pokes and prods with slight disdain
He says it's my fault that I feel
All this excruciating pain.

He won't prescribe me "harder" drugs
His useless bottles line my shelf
I really wish I didn't feel
Like finding "harder" drugs myself.

He gave me, yesterday, a shot
But once again the pain is worse
Too proud to sue for how I feel
I'll line his office with my verse.

Sounds like my daughter's recent experience in the hospital. Many medical professionals seem to lack even basic communication skills.

It sounds hopeless...but there must be a way, never give up!
