A wonderful interview with a former conductor of Carnegie Hall but is now working with the Sao Paulo Symphony. [wksu.org] In the interview she talked about Villa Lobos, a minor composer in the west but exalted in Brazil. He composed an unusual piece for the Harmonica.

There are countless wonderful musicians from countries outside of what we in the west really listen to and know about. Thank you for posting, I like to try to post about artists largely unknown, or less well known to us in the USA/U.K. …here in this group.

Are you able to get the NPR links? It was a great interview and gave us another side of life in Brazil.
