Les Parapluies De Cherbourg or The Umberellas Of Cherbourg…I remember watching this delightful French film some years ago. I think it probably still is the only French musical I’ve ever seen. Made in 1964 with a score by French musical maestro Michel Legrand it was the debut role for the very beautiful Catherine Deneuve, opposite Nino Castelnuovo as her lover who has just been drafted into the army to go to fight in the war in Algeria. Here they sing the hit song from the film, which became an international hit in English as - I Will Wait For You…
