Thanks to Roger posting a couple of tracks from this English folk trio in Richard’s Traditional & Folk Music group, I’ve been introduced to them. They’re called The Wilderness Yet and comprise folksinger Rosie Hodgson, fiddler Rowan Piggott and guitarist/flautist Philippe Barnes. I must say I do love the sweet tone of Rosie’s voice which is complimented by Rowan & Philippe’s fiddle & guitar playing. Here they perform John O’ Dreams a Bill Caddick adaptation from Tchaikovsky’s “Pathetique” who in turn borrowed it from a southern Italian lullaby “Piva Piva”…hence turning a full circle by coming back to its folk roots…
She has such a sweet voice!! 🥰 lovely song and the guitar and violin accompanying is beautiful.
