Galicia in the Northwest corner of the Iberian peninsula is an autonomous region of Spain which is ethnically connected to other Celtic nations and regions on the western fringes of Europe…not just Scotland & Ireland but many others including Wales, Cornwall and Brittany in France. In common with other Celtic nations the Galicians have their traditional music which includes playing the bagpipes. The Galician bagpipes are called Gaita and those who play the instrument are called Gaiteros.
