I’m sure you already know that I’m a lifelong chorister, I started early in primary school and progressed to eventually sing in some of the most prestigious choirs in the UK. Amongst the major choral works and many requiems I’ve participated in performing over the years, one of the most memorable is Brahms German Requiem which unlike all other requiems is not sung in Latin but in the original German..a language I had to learn in order to sing it! It was quite a challenge for some of us, but perhaps it’s easier for this Dutch choir as their two languages are much closer to each other than English.
Groot Omroepkoor Netherlands Radio Choir with Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, conductor Karina Canellakis, with Sarah Brady (soprano) & Michael Nagy (baritone).
