Pal Waaktaar- Savoy wears many hats …he’s best known as principal songwriter and guitarist with Norway’s most famous and successful music act a-ha…but with his other band Savoy he’s also lead singer as well as the other two …and he’s pretty good at that job too. Savoy is the band that Pal formed in 1994 with his American wife, musician & film maker Lauren Savoy, and percussionist Frode Unneland, when a-ha were on prolonged break between 1993 & 2000. This song he wrote was first performed & recorded by Savoy and then after a-ha resumed making music again it became an a-ha song with Morten Harket replacing Pal on vocals and was included on Minor Earth, Major Sky, the album they released in 2000. The a-ha version of the song also featured on the soundtrack of the movie One Night At McCool’s…and I’m also including a live a-ha version from 2001 …but first …Savoy - Velvet
