I bought the 1979 album - Francis Albert Sinatra sings Antonio Carlos Jobim - when it was released and played it incessantly for a period of time…I still listen to it from time to time and it still sounds great today. I think Sinatra’ voice and musical style & timing was perfectly matched to the compositional styling and bossa nova tempo of Jobin’s music. I love Brazilian music and the bossa nova beat - and I also love hearing “old blue eyes” vocalise…so it’s a marriage made in heaven in my opinion….
Truly a joy. I may have to imbibe in a period of listening to them incessantly myself.
I know the music is just so seductive…
@Marionville Yes, that's exactly it. And every once in a while we really need to escape to that feeling.
