One of the most dramatic classical orchestral pieces ever written has to be Ride Of The Valkyries from Richard Wagner’s “Die Walkure” …used in many films, notably of course - Apocalypse Now. Here it’s being performed in concert live by University of British Columbia Symphony Orchestra at Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver in 2018..

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I know Wagner was once shunned because of it's associations with the Nazi's but Wagner was not a Nazi (wonder how he would feel about this association). Now people are starting to appreciate his works. Just had a crazy idea that perhaps some of the anti-tRump groups as indivisible should adopt this music as a rallying cry against the wanna be Nazis. One thing Seattle is noted for is it's presentations of Wagner's Ring cycle. Though, I can't imagine sitting through hours of one of these operas. [seattleopera.org]
