Kurt Nilsen is one of Norway’s best kept secrets…he shunned international fame, deciding to stay at home, making his career on home territory, after he was bullied online and criticised for his looks after winning the International version of Pop Idol. The former carpenter has a wonderful voice and won legions of fans when he represented Norway at the one-of international version of the competition in 2004…beating USA’s Kelly Clarkson into second place. It’s a great pity some nasty people couldn’t just enjoy listening to him sing without making personal attacks on his appearance.
Here Kurt sings Stjernesludd (Stardust) with a children’s choir…

Unfortunately, k.d. lang got the same comments. Even Johnny Carson said to ''just listen to that voice!''
Kurt looks just fine to most of us I'm sure. Whatever happened to being non judgmental about appearance anyway?

Yes…I knew k.d. got a lot of abuse too. It’s really disgraceful….
