O Waly, Waly is a Scottish traditional song dating from the 1600s which is also known as The Water Is Wide and has been covered by many classical and folk singers. I love the tune and have been singing it since childhood, preferring the more traditional style to the folk style. Here is a beautiful rendition by Laura Wright.
