A friend recommended a retro music called postmodern Juke box. Seems even music doesn’t go out of style.

Hey, I love this! Why call it Juke Box?

Maybe it was first played on jukeboxes.

I really enjoy them as well. I follow them on FB and they usually post at least once a day so it's always a refreshing break. I'm glad you've discovered them.

A new friend told me about this and it is interesting. I used to live next door to a dance hall (built in 1915) that turned into a sort of nightclub/vaudeville show. There was once a performance of a young Canadian who still writes a certain kind of music popular in the early days of radio. I forget the type and if I remember I'll post it. I believe it was called ragtime. There was even a opera written in ragtime

@jackjr I've only listened to about 20 minutes and I'm enjoying it a lot. I haven't listened to Scott Joplin in a long time, and I've never heard of this. I'll have to save it until I can watch it on my television instead of on my phone.

@Lauren Glad you enjoyed what you heard. I also learned of the opera while searching for the name of the music style. I case you are interested here is a link to the dance hall next door to my Seattle home. I volunteered for years for this place. They had a kitchen and served root beer floats and other snacks. They even had magic acts and a lot of old time entertainment. [kenyonhall.org]

I enjoy Postmodern Jukebox!

It looks interesting. When I first heard of this I thought it was about a certain sound quality. I once had a hobby of refurbishing old radio sets.Often, until the early 40's a type of speaker was used that had an electromagnet in place of a permanent magnet. This and certain other devices (vacuum tubes, the material of the speakers and general technology) gave the output a certain quality. I would listen to new material played on an old set and it would sound old. In this case I was wrong. It's about style not sound.
