Solar minimum was in 2019 so the sun is ramping up in flares, spots and prominences. Here is one from 8-25. That thing is at least 75,000 miles above the sun's surface.!! Much larger than the earth!! Photo taken with a dedicated solar telescope. You cannot see prominences without a properly filtered scope. NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN WITH AN UNFILTERED TELESCOPE OR BINOCULARS, YOU WILL BURN YOUR EYES.
