Comet Wirtanen now visible in binoculars. It is in Cetus near the star Phi. Large but diffuse glow about the size of the full moon. No central condensation, just a patch of glowing gas. In the next week it will move towards the head of Cetus and on the 11th will be near the brightest star in the circlet (head) of Cetus. It is still gaining in brightness, I could not see it without binoculars but someone with sharp eyes and under really dark skies might.
