The first 9 chicks have hatched, dried, and are now in a brooding box. They're so cute! Two more have just hatched but are too wet to leave the incubator. And the first turkey poult pipping out now.

This Bald Eagle is always perched in this tree on the banks of Henry's Fork of the Snake River, about 5 miles from my house. No matter how many times I see him, it always gives me a thrill!

It's been a terrific spring for rare bird sightings in the SE US. I got a shot of a make Rose Breasted Grosbeak through my kitchen window. When I zoomed in to crop it, there was a SECOND Grosbeak that I had not even seen! Two-for-one!

Some neat birds I encountered while bird-watching, today. There's a female long-tailed duck; a killdeer; a pair of American wigeons; since ring-billed gulls; and my favorite shot of the day, a male kestrel.

This little bluebird left the nest last night! His parents very bravely kept guard as he flew to a nearby tree. I love bluebirds!
