My sister bought a kiwi made woollen blanket, very expensive.

Yes, wools are very pricey. I used to knit a lot, & the price of wools for knitting was really high, so I did most of my work with acrylics, or nylon.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Yeah, I met a farmer recently, he was telling me that no one buys woollen carpet any more, the nylon carpets are better wearing.

The coarse wool is used as insulation here, not much market for it.

Merino tops for outdoors use are popular here, however obviously they’re pretty pricey. Hard wearing though. I thought that the wool would pill after a few washes, but it’s woven in such a way that this effect doesn’t occur.

@Zealandia Yes, I did treat myself to a merino sweater some years ago, & I treat it very carefully. Our winters can get very cold.
