I'm making a 2d xmas tree this yr. No little kids so doesn't have to be special. I went collecting sticks of different sizes, to make that triangular fir tree look and have now them spray painted gold. As I said in a previous post I mess about with stained glass so here is my first 2d bauble. I'll post the tree when finished because I am a show off.
I know this bauble isn't very interesting but I am just so thrilled to be doing something creative. I want all my decorations to be hand made. This reminds me how important it is to have creativity or balance in your life. Mine lately has been too filled with work. I have neglected hobbies, and relationships. This is not good for my mental health. I can't tell you how happy I am to have spent the day being creative.
Hi Ms Demeanour, I read your initial post and found it interesting. So here I am responding to this more recent post. Creativity is definitely healthy in whatever form. Especially in our busy lives which can be so creatively draining and stressful. I moved to a more rural area to be stress free and foster creativity. But alas not always stress free and time free. Still I endeavour to be creative in whatever way I can which up to now has been finishing building my home, working on art designs in photoshop, or video editing. etc Riding my motorcycle is one of my favorite ways to enjoy my own company. So keep up the creativity and me time.
thanks for your reply. And yes I agree there are many ways to be creative. Even taking the dog for a walk and imagining life through her eyes is creative.
Your comment on your bike has evoked sad feelings however. My yamaha has just died and my family (none ride) organised a poll on FB and all but one said it was time for me to hang up my helmet and not buy another bike. I know I should please myself but it is nice that I have people in my life that care about me.
@MsDemeanour I never thought of being creative by seeing the world through a dogs eyes. What an interesting and imaginative mind you have. I'm not sure I would listen to the wisdom from FB posts but ultimately it is up to how you feel about it. So don't be sad, buy a trike! LOL
Very nice. It looks hand made and I like that.
yes i actually don't like perfection (one might as well buy a mass-produced item) and I don't like perfect symmetry. Flaws are much more comforting.
@MsDemeanour I really do like it. You should post more photos of your work.
