Cold weather and dogs. I went outside with my dogs for some time out. The wind is howling, it's below zero and what do I hear in the near distance? A dog barking. When I was an ACO I went on a call where 3 dogs were in fencing with a shed dog house. The shed had towels and blankets frozen to the ground.The dogs had icicles on their faces and couldn't put down more than 2 feet at a time, they rotated. The weather was just like today. FREEZING and WINDY. I wanted to bring them to my heated kennel but the cop I was with said leave them but close the shed door. I was pretty pissed off but did it that way then called the owners at home that night. I told them if they have to leave them outside build a hay bale house. 2 on the floor and one on each side so the dogs keep themselves warm. Otherwise I would take them the next day. I think they moved them to the cellar. That's ok too but who in their right mind would leave dogs out when it's below freezing???? Someone who needs to be naked and alone outside on a freezing windy day. I wish I could have done that.
