In 1913 two amendments to the Constitution were added for the sole purpose of destroying the United States and further the then new progressive movement.

The first was the 16th amendment, giving the federal government the power to directly tax the income of the American people and feed the monster Washington has become.

The second was the passage of the 17th amendment. Prior to the 17th amendment the states appointed the senators, giving the states a means of controlling the federal government.

The 17th amendment took any control the states had over Washington out the their hands, turning the servant of the states into the master of the states.

Without the 17th amendment there would be not "Unfunded mandates" on the states. The states could resist Washington's over reach by their control over the Senate.

And the clear fraud in the senate races in Florida and Arizona would not happen because some county official could not manipulate the vote results, which has allowed the progressives to steal the senate seat in Arizona and perhaps soon the seat in Florida.

In my view the time has come to repeal the 17th amendment.
