Gorgeous!?
I feel fortunate to live in this area for sure.
Looks like home!
Yes yes!!! I'm guessing you've through hike the Gizzard. Love this trail!
Buy the way, I think it's still closed at Sycamore Falls for a few more days.
@CreativeTN Haven't through-hiked yet. Have done most of the AT. There's a trail beginning on Signal Mountain, goes to Edwards' Point and then heads north. I don't believe that one's the same one though.
Cool. No, that's not the Fiery Gizzard. Most people hike the Gizzard from the Grundy Forest trail head in Tracey City down to Foster Falls. Signs say 13 but it's more like 15 and if you do a little side venturing maybe 16. It's very strenuous in spots... moderate to strenuous... distance and pace make it strenuous for most. Here's a good resource. [friendsofsouthcumberland.org]
@CreativeTN Thanks. Doesn't sound like a trail for my kids yet, but I'll find a day and hike it.

Posted by CallMeDaveI've never been a big wildflower person, but this is the season for it here in Appalachia. Other people can identify every variety. I'm not there yet.
