I have a couple of questions about AA sponsorship.
Yep. Just ask him. If he has a lot of experience he will probably tell you what his expectations are and how he likes to sponsor people and take them through the steps. You work together to decide when you’re ready to move on to the next step but your sponsor will have a lot more to say about it than you because he has a lot more experience and not-quite-sober-yet alcoholics lie to themselves and everyone else, but especially to themselves (and been-sober-a-long-time-but-don’t-work-the-steps-much-anymore alcoholics lie a lot, too). I had to stop drinking to see if I could get sober. For me simply being physically separated from alcohol made things worse. I was raw. Hang in there. It gets better! Actually, it gets better when it’s OK the way that it is-but that’s another story for another day.
Posted by Fibonacci1618This is an article discussing the differences and similarities between a 12 Step Program and SMART Recovery. I'm curious about your thoughts or experiences between the two..... [thefix.com]
