The apple didn't fall far from the tree. My adult son came to me last year and asked for help going to rehab. He wanted to go where I went in 2000. He got in and stayed sober for 10 months. Called me last night to tell me he relapsed and got caught at work on a random test. He was hired as a chef at the rehab after 9 months sobriety. He is now faced with having to repeat the program. He asked if his Mom and me would come down for a little moral support, she is a normal and a little more upset even though I warned her coming up on 1 year was a critical point in time for a lot of addicts. I admit I am disappointed for him> I know it will be even more difficult to repeat his program. I not asking for advice, I am just venting to this group. I'll go and not judge.
It's good that you'll not judge him and you'll be there for him. That makes a huge first difference. I wish y'all the best
Hoping for the best. Not everyone gets it the 1st time around. Hope he gets through this.
Yeah, I hope so. 10 months is quite a bit for a first time. He has tools and support so.........
