Did you mean a paper on Social Science and if so, what sort of paper and which of the Social Sciences?

I'm a sociologist. I got a revise & resubmit for an article on the sociology of religion, and they suggested I address an avenue of the literature that I'm not familiar with. There's a lot of it, and I have about 3 weeks to do it. I just wondered if anyone had some tips.

@Orbit -- By not familiar with are you saying you know of it but not enough about it to comment (something on that order) or that you know nothing of it?

If it is the first notion, you can use some available literature to draw some sort of comment on it indicating that it may (or may not) have something to do with your thrust, but that you do not feel at liberty to comment on it because you are not studied in that area. I had that happen on a physics article I submitted a couple of years ago and that approach satisfied them. In my case it was not something particularly pertinent. Your call.
