I chose my word for 2019. Support. I hope my actions in this coming year reflect my work toward supporting a writing career. I hope my actions this year reflect my intention to support those in my life who hold importance for me. I have some plans. I wrote this piece this morning and will work on my novel more today. I hope the coming year brings everyone in this group movement in your stories, both written and lived.
I enjoyed your story "Garlic Forever"
Thank you. I had fun writing. It was a submission for inclusion in a horror anthology. I wasn't accepted for the book. Still had a great time with it. ???
@Lillyfield41 I especially liked the sciency bits and the cranky father
@Lillyfield41 -- There ya go. Nice write. Good read. Meaningful in a meaningful way. Good on ya.
So...what's your "word"?
Read the article.
@evidentialist I did. Is the word "matter"? If not.....work on your communication skills.
the word is support. it's actually defined in there.
@Lop-Eared-Mule , the word is support. i stated it in the introduction. [i chose my word for 2019 - tell them what you're going to tell them. support. tell them what you're telling them. and then followed up with, i hope my actions reflect the support i offer to those with importance - tell them what you just told them. it's classic essay writing.]
i stay away from conflict on agnostic as much as i can. i'm not about to muddy up my brain with discouragment from folks to whom I have no connection. however, in a group of readers and writers, casting aspersion against my writing skills is infuriating. if you have read anything I have written - ever - you will understand how fragile my constitution is for sharing. The act of sharing is a pretty significant step forward for me. Also, if you dig deeper into my writing, you will know that I have been given encouragement and told for pretty much my whole life by strangers and friends that i have a command for language and do communicate well. That being said, I am not infallible and the discouragement I have received has not been as a result of a lack of intelligence or ability to convey messages.
I'm so impassioned about your comment right now, because there are others out here who would take your negative words and stuff that into their foundation, believing they have an inability to communicate.
I'm going to give back to you what you just gave: perhaps you need to work on your comprehension skills.
@Lop-Eared-Mule & @evidentialist , i realize this morning that i reacted poorly on lop eared mule's comment. i write all the time about struggling with clarity in my writing, and you pointed out to me, with very few words, that i had not communicated to you my intention. Instead of re-reading the full blog entry, I reacted immediately. I rarely go back and re-read or edit the blog entries after i've finished them. they are a total 'free-write' for me.
At any rate, I wanted to extend my apology for a knee-jerk reaction to criticism.
Support is a good word to focus on this year...
thank you.
