I have just had occasion to use the following poem in response to a another's reply. The poem was written by an Australian Assistant Commissioner of Taxation a Dr Keith McHenry. I heard him perform the poem probably the year that he wrote it. It had a simple title 9/11. As far as I'm aware the poem is under copyright but I found a badly presented copy dated 17/09/2002 on the following link (it is the second entry down)

I got permission to perform it on air on Community radio and used it in my annual remembrance Sunday programme which was always dedicated to all dead of war not just the military combatants.
Hmm, if you are not familiar with the Chilean 1973 coup you are unlikely to know of Victor Jara a Chilean folksinger who was murdered at the stadium after having been tortured. His last song was smuggled out after his death. It is an harrowing paean of overcoming inhumanity to fellow humans.
