Individually Alike
by
J. Richard Jacobs
We are born alone.
Lead lives of our own.
But we are all alike too,
The they, us, me, and the you.
Why can we not see,
All fall from one tree
Branched to form one family
Made of you, and them, and me?
It is time my friend
For the strain to end.
Brothers, sisters gathering
In the sun we start to sing
A song of freedom
From our cold prison's
Halls of dark separation
Into sweet liberation.
You. Me. All of us. Together. Finally alive.
Unfortunately, there's some biological rules that prohibit this. It's called "population density; the rule is "the more dense the population, the more hostile we are to eachother"....J.R. Malthus put it a simpler way in 1812, over 200 years ago..."As the quantity of life (in any given area) increases, the quality decreases".
Sorry to be a "mirror holder" but while this is nice, it's not real.
I don't subscribe to Malthusian thinking. I also don't put much stock in Calhoun.
