SHARE YOUR BEST MARKETING/PROMOTION PRACTICES --

What sort of marketing and/or promotional strategies have you tried that yielded the best results? Getting one's work found is the greatest hurdle an author needs to overcome.I've tried numerous ways that have not yielded the desired results. These include: mass email blasts, Facebook ads, contacting dozens of book bloggers, whatever I could think of that didn't cost a fortune -- I'm not paying $1500 for one Book Bub ad -- but still reached an audience of thousands. Regardless, the results have been underwhelming.

Please share your ideas with the whole class.

Do you subscribe to any of the Writers magazines? There is often good info in there.
Below is one you might want to check out. Also writers conferences often open doors but some cost way too much. I recently attended one that was $30 for the entire day where editors & publishers were present and where critiquing was available. That 1 day workshop was fabulous ... way better than one my friend went to in California that cost her $3000 (that included airfare to get there, hotel rm., interview with a publisher etc.).

A $3000 expense to attend one conference? Ouch! I hope she thought it was worth it. Thanks for the head's up on the WD competition. I'll look it up and consider it.
