Thank you, I've been here a while but not making much of an impression. So many groups and comments to negotiate.

I'm pretty lazy but have managed to self-publish a few books and formerly a blog mainly on 20th century pop culture -- early and mid century Hollywood, sixties music ("Beach Boys vs Beatlemania: Rediscovering Sixties Music" ). These days I've moved away from nonfiction and am focusing solely on short stories (only three published in local anthologies by this coming November) and a series of short novels on Auckland street life, first three entires planned but far from completed. You?

@Garbonza I'm now retited, but I was the proprietor/editor of a small publishing business, turning out a monthly, a fortnightly and a weekly publication.
I'm also slowly writing an autobiography.

@Petter I've been a newspaper proofreader and magazine copy editor in the past, now nearing retirement also. I've had two lady friends from Kenya, both resettled in New Zealand, one Scottish (from near Nairobi, who told me about sweltering Mombasa and the coast) and another English, originally, who's a fellow writer. She's also writing her memoir based largely on her time in Kenya, which she's never got out of her system. I realise the importance of memories involved in this kind of dislocation, having come from the States when I was five -- and my memoir only covers my family and out new culture up to the time I was about 15.

@Garbonza They might like to read the start of my autobiography. Give them the link I posted. I have a nephew in Christchurch and a niece in Graymouth, also ex Kenyan, of course. I grew up mainly within an hour's drive of Nairobi.
