Signed up for Nanowrimo today! Anyone participating?
I should, but in the last three years I've yet to complete the challenge. I'm too burned out to even think about it right now. I have no ideas. {sigh}
What genre are you aiming for this year?
memoir called heavy drapes. i think i'm just going to write some vignettes from my life that helped to define who i am. probably out of order.
@Lillyfield41 You've inspired me. I went ahead and signed up. It's not going to be very good, but I might make a sizable dent in the 50,000-word goal this time if I set (and stick to) a strict schedule.
I did it three years running. It is an interesting exercise in discipline, mental effort, and frustration. I think it can be either constructive or destructive, depending on the individual. If nothing else, it's a great lesson in not editing on the fly. I must admit, it's not a lesson I learned, at least not much. Good luck to you and enjoy the ride.
I've been participating since 2013. i made the goal once. ha! i have finished two of the stories listed on my profile. This morning I had the thought of participating again.
I had a dream last night... I thought of the perfect beginning for a story. Then I thought to myself (in the dream) This is SO important I'm going to remember. Then later in the dream, I had not remembered and chastised myself. I woke up without remembering also.
I think the discipline of writing every day is what i need right now to get back into the swing of it.
