Cluster B Personality Disorders consist of some very concerning traits, in fact it could be argued as a moral position to place everyone with such a personality disorder into a concentration camp if only it were possible for certain variables to be in place. Well, what about the inhumane treatment and abuse that is known to occur in concentration camps?
If we cross examine between the kind of inhumane treatment and abuse that has historically occurred in concentration camps with the traits of various cluster B personality disorders, we will actually find that it is those very traits that allowed someone to be capable of inflicting such abuse to begin with.
So what are the impossible variables that would make this be okay if such could be met?
1-Firstly, one of the variables would essentially require magic to exist as everyone on the face of the earth would need to be scanned and then transported to such a facility if they met the diagnostic criteria and this process would have to be eternally re-occurring"
2-Secondly, the cultural/religious exemptions for these diagnostics would need to be ignored"
3-Thirdly, vast efforts and funding for figuring out how to cure these personality disorders would need to be ongoing and making headway"
4-The fourth requirement is that important positions such as someone working an airplane in the moment have their transfer to the concentration camp delayed until their sudden absence would no longer pose a threat to the lives of others"
5-The Fifth requirement would be that once someone is placed in a concentration camp, all of their possessions and power they had would be redistributed amongst everyone outside of said concentration camp."
6-The sixth requirement is that there be a different concentration camp for each cluster B diagnosis (One for Narcissistic Personality Disorder, one for Borderline Personality Disorder, One For Histrionic Personality, and one for Anti-Social personality disorder) so as to encourage the development of self reflection through being exposed to others who are problematic in the same way they are problematic."
7-And finally, the children of such people would need to be magically ensured that they'd be adopted by loving families"
If this is not even possible then what is even the point of this post?
The point of this post is simply to provoke thoughts regarding the serious harm that comes from the various traits associated with Cluster B Personality disorders (Admittedly with the help of the shock value that comes from the use of the term concentration camp). The reality though is that with people who have cluster B traits in such an abundance taken out of the administrative/faculty equation, a concentration camp changes drastically and essentially becomes a humane psychiatric ward, though for the sheer shock value I'll continue to refer to such as concentration camps!
*Certain religions would begin to die off at an escalated rate
*Tyrants and misanthropes would be automatically removed from power all the while ensuring someone much better for the position can take their place.
*Non-profits that are being dishonest about their use of resources and efforts to help others would have their leading members replaced with more honest and humanitarian people, while non-profits that are beyond corrupt would simply be disbanded and cease to exist on a functioning level. As non-profits that claim to be intent on helping others begin to be more honestly and effectively ran, problems suffered by people in certain groups and demographics begin to decline at a considerable rate.
*Job positions would open up not only for the reason that Cluster B people were all sent to concentration camps but also for the fact of the matter that the need for people with sociology and psychology degrees would skyrocket!
*World peace would practically be attained over night!
What is the point of even discussing this if the scenario required for this isn't even possible?
There are many ways to achieve a single goal, especially for this example!
It may be unrealistic to isolate everyone with a cluster B personality disorder to concentration camps, however if communes are (voluntarily) filled with people who have scored significantly low on tests to screen for the individual traits associated with such personality disorders, it can serve as the basis for a system that takes an alternative approach!
What are the primary goals here?
The primary goals are as follows:
1-To create a safe space for people who do not want to deal with cluster B types.
2-To work on and experiment with cures for cluster B personality disorders and to administer them when effective and proven means of curing such are found. (This may include the necessity to expose cluster B types to the very culture represented in the safe space, this would not necessarily negate the safe space aspect due to something known as Minority stress. During the Stanford Prison Experiment people's tendency to conform to the expectations and standards of a certain setting was demonstrated, I believe this could be utilized for a positive effect!)
3-To increase productivity through implementation of a societal framework based loosely on Dunbar's Number, Maslow's Hierarchy Of Human Needs, and Spiral Dynamics. (A cluster B type is not capable of self-actualization (See Maslow's Hierarchy Of Human Needs) unless they are first cured of their personality disorder. The effects of self-actualization increase productivity greatly for civilizations that encourage it adequately while also ensuring the self-actualized individual greater life satisfaction (Thus making the carrot on a stick approach a good option). Dunbar's number has been utilized before in a workplace model that proved effective for both optimization of productivity and civility and so such is an excellent fit. Spiral Dynamics is a system of gauging developmental stages in people and cultural settings that can encourage a mindset of "Improvements must be made where improvements are possible" and if ingrained into a cultural setting properly that cultural setting can adapt freely as new information is introduced, this would actually be necessary as to function as a part of the culture that would make a trait of Narcissistic personality disorder survivalistically disadvantageous (Arrogance)).
4-To answer the question of "To what extent are people with cluster B personalities a product of society and to what extent is society a product of cluster B personalities" and meet the answer found with a series of solutions that are capable of remedying the problems associated with such traits as those that belong to such personality disorders through a culture designed specifically for such an aim.
Really, and there I was thinking psychopathic and sociopathic people were the scariest.
Just goes to show it takes all sorts
I know your use of the words concentration camp is supposed to be scary...it’s A bit upsetting too obviously due to WW2 references
I hope you don’t intend to stand for president in the near future!
@Secular_Squirrel the upsetting thing is that the, ‘warden’, ( Zimbardo, [en.m.wikipedia.org] which when others replicated they found guards less aggressive when replicated, but even when prisoners were swapped into the guard role they became silmilar in disposition- no more understanding),
‘electric shock administered to a stranger’ (Miligram, [en.m.wikipedia.org] )
and, ‘blue eye brown eye’ experiments, (Elliott, [smithsonianmag.com]
show that this kind of mentality is far too easy to accept and gain for many, ( nazi concentration camp function), is not limited to those with a certain personality disorder, or even type.
Have you studied psychology and/ or sociology?
It’s very convenient to chose an, ‘other’ to project ills onto and blame. Much less convenient to accept that none of us are perfect and look for the same ills in yourself yet keep trying to make positive changes in an imperfect word. Separation is not the answer it promises to be and rehabilitation cannot always be achieved
As far as I’m concerned it is this type of thinking that the tabloids and some news channels exploit.
@Secular_Squirrel so have you studied psychology or sociology?
Also what evidence do you have that like people learn more from observing each other than from observing others that function differently?
@Secular_Squirrel sounds like you’re diagnosing yourself and creating an, ‘other’, those with B Personality diagnoses.
Others can be scary if we feel they are different and think differently, but helping them starts with seeing things from their point of view, also looking for similarities in your own feelings to establish some empathy to work from.
Here’s some Pink Floyd for the journey:
@Secular_Squirrel yes talking about narcissistic personality disorders is very fashionable at the moment, isn’t it?
So your previous comments of rehabilitation were not very helpful in regards to that specific disorder were they? Do you have any evidence that such a disorder can be recovered from? There is some evidence that some autistic people are aided by faces displaying different emotions for learning cues. But for people that are fundamentally selfish and discount other’s feelings I doubt that they would have any interest in it, unless it’s to be more controlling
We have more awareness now and learn and can teach young ones to respect their own boundaries. Teaching children that they can say no is such an important part of development and happens at about 2 years old. I’ll never hug a child if they don’t want a hug, but how many adults force kids to do things they’re uncomfortable with for no good reason?
Mmm human rights have a lot to do with these issues.
@Secular_Squirrel well I look forwards to your imminent studies being completed so that you can help start to rehabilitate people with B Cluster personalities. I’ve spent a lot of my life doing things I’ve thought worthwhile; I’m sure if you really want to help you’ll find a way.
I hope your own progress with the pain that brought you to this point also goes well.
