Here's a beautiful video demonstrating the point. The Merry Widow and Count Donato realize they've fallen in love. Notice the body language in the very first minute how it hits her emotionally. As shown in the video, falling in love is a heavy responsibility as well as great joy.

When you know the underlying story, it becomes more intense. Lisa Pavanne is Australian but eventually went on to become director of the Royal Ballet in London.
