This has been an awesome spring in the south and it looks the hits just keep coming. I pull up a lightning map [lightningmaps.org] usually not much activity in the morning. With all the humidity here in the southern US, every afternoon there are popup thunderstorms throughout the south. I find that amazing all that water and latent heat just drifting around waiting for a bird to fart and the chain of events starts up and creates a thunderstorm. Almost makes the excess humidity worth while just to watch thunderstorms form anywhere and everywhere. Although I have noticed North Carolina to the east of the dismal swamp gets more action than Virginia Beach only 30 miles north.

Posted by GuyKeithThis is going to be bad, especially for Tallahassee. Destin will have offshore winds, those east of the center, not so lucky. 125 mph winds and devastating storm surge
