California is burning. The Woolsey Fire, which broke out Thursday,11/8 has burned 92,000 acres, killed two people and destroyed an estimated 400 homes as of Monday morning, Another 57,000 structures are threatened. It's at 20% containment. It is wind driven and the direct result of a seven year drought and climate change. It's one of three(+?) fires burning in California and this is not the worst of them, and it's not over.
Read more here: [sacbee.com] These are photos of a large animal evacuation. Horses, llamas, goats, etc. are being evacuated to the beach because it was their only path of escape. The fire has burned to the beach. None of these photos are my own.I could only upload 10, but you get the idea
This is heartbreaking. So much suffering.
It’s absolutely devastating. I live in the Sacramento area and seeing the town of Paridise completely destroyed is heartbreaking. The smoke here has been bad for about 4 days now. I’m not in danger of losing my home as I am pretty close to the city but I know people personally that have lost everything, and I mean everything. I can’t express the anguish that’s being felt here.
I had typed out a reply yesterday and it failed to post but I just wanted to say I agree I am basically in shock watching all this devastation and loss all around me and feel quite helpless. I couldn't even post about the Camp fire as the details are too disturbing. As the Camp fire is the largest in Nor Cal history, The Woolsey fire is now the largest fire in So Cal history.
I hope that you are safe!
I'm fine, I'm not in an area at risk. I have to work a lot so it's hard to keep track of everything happening. It's crazy. This is affecting tens of thousands of people. It's chaotic. Our resources are maxed out. It's a little difficult to just act normal through all of this, and this isn't the bad one. . Nor Cal is way worse.

Posted by GuyKeithThis is going to be bad, especially for Tallahassee. Destin will have offshore winds, those east of the center, not so lucky. 125 mph winds and devastating storm surge
