China, after initially being complacent tested isolated extensively and reports say no new cases today.
I predict that other countries will see results quicker. Italy and S. Korea obviously because they got it early but also locked-down early too. Mainland Europe and Ireland next, with the UK later. The US will be slow to beat this because a, They have tested late (Trump refused the WHO testing kits) and locked-down late b, The private health system, and c, The logistics and individualistic nature of its population.
Even with this unprecedented global crisis, Trump cannot resist electioneering and casual racism. He has not put into power anyone with great ability in your govt depts. Instead, they are populated with yes men. Not the best way to deal with a crisis. In times like this, you really need people that tell you when you're wrong.
I watched his briefing today and he spent an inordinate amount of time talking about some US guy he got freed from Syria. If he had any real good news to impart about the most pressing matter in hand, do you think he would do this?

You will see some bacteria and there are millions perhaps billions of types of them. So many that no one knows them all. Consequently, a liquid cleaner like bleach or hand sanitizer cannot say that it kills all germs because we don't know all of the germs. Just all the ones it kills.

If you have elderly friends, family or neighbors? You can ask them if they need anything before you go shopping? Keep in touch as much as you can by phone or text. If someone does fall ill they might really need your help and it`s reassuring to know that you're there.

Even with a lockdown, nobody needs that much toilet paper. The tap water in my town is okay so why stock up on bottled? This means less room in the truck for pasta, rice or beans which I grant you it might be prudent to stock up on.

Then showed me a FB site where the cop had said how she found this "starving" cat. (My cat always has food BTW) And took her to a charity vet place. Turned out to be to animal rescue charity shop across the street. I caught them before closing time and there she was, in a cat box crying.
The thing is, my cat is black so she should have known to run and hide from cops

Firstly, I doubt very much if you would ever commit murder or rape which is the only cases I am aware that this has been used for in the UK.
Secondly, if by any unfortunate circumstance one of your family was a victim of such a miscarriage of justice. I also doubt that you might be as adamant. Even without any personal involvement and the victims are strangers, there should be a case for justice.
I know it is in the constitution but that does not automatically make it right (sorry).

I have to admit it did sound funny but not from your perspective.
It kinda reminded me of two occasions with my daughter.
The first happened in a designer cake shop. It was a big fancy type of place and had been showcased on national TV. Right in the aisle was a huge four-tier wedding cake standing on a small table. The kind of accident waiting to happen that makes everyone cautious around it. You guessed it. My 13-year-old girl manages to tip it over, sending the tiers rolling around the shop and tears rolling down her cheeks. But it really was so dammed funny I could not help myself from laughing. We apologized to the shop owner and left hurriedly. She crying and me smirking. Only when outside did I tell her that all kids are that clumsy at her age. That her body had grown a bit quicker than her brain can handle and these things are inevitable. I then went on to tell her of some of the clutz things I did at her age and the sobs lessened somewhat.
The second time was when we were in a Chinese restaurant for lunch. She has to use the bathroom but was absent for a very long time. Eventually, her mom went to investigate and found her howling/banging at a locked cubical door that she cannot open. Again much mirth ensued
Not quite the same as being headbutted by deer but for a 13-year-old girl, that kind of embarrassment can be really painful. It took a few years and only very gentle ribbing but she can now laugh about them.

I heard an interview with Ry Cooder where he was asked how come he did so many different things. He said "Not having a hit record helps, You can be tied to that sucker for 40 years"
The worst-case though was Van Morrison. He came on for the 1st half and played his new album. The audience was polite etc. but obviously wanted to hear some old stuff like "Brown-eyed girl". He came on in the 2nd half and said: "Now I am gonna play something that you've all heard before". The applause resounded around the room until he played his new album again.

I just watched a little of George Carlin and sorry I didn't find his rant about "Stuff" funny. Although I am glad that you find humor in it.

In fact, when I wrote this I did not mean it to look like one complete profile but alternated female and male separately bad lines. I honestly did not think that people would think that the last line "First date - Anywhere not within 500 feet of a school" would apply to women but hey ho.

@St-Sinner A democratic socialist is not the same as a socialist. The former want a redistribution of wealth by democratic means ie taxation and some services in the public sector like medicine. The latter wants a full confiscation of wealth and all services like utilities, transport, and most industry owned by the state.
Some redistribution of wealth is essential in any mixed economy. Otherwise, it will only flow upwards and the rich will live in closed communities where everyone else will live in shanty/trailer townships

@UUNJ I'm no great cook myself and I don't think I have used it for meat yet although I have heard it can be good for that. However, it is very good for veg. If you boil veg it leaches out the goodness, roast, and they lose texture but mico and you keep both. I have a small microwave rice/veg cooking pot. Corncobs, broccoli, or even just a peeled onion, come out perfect. If I roast potatoes? I will just give them 5 mins before the oven (no water), rather than part-boil them 1/2 -3/4 of an hour in the oven. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, just right.
