One case that springs to mind is two 17yr olds from Belfast jailed for 3 months for burning a poppy and posting it on FB. Often when you clamp down on things its like putting a damper on a fire. It just increases the oxygen.

I have posted some of his stuff before. You can find much more on his website smash-flops. The songs are very different. Firstly because they start with Clives words not the tune. Secondly because Clives words are unusual. They also managed to kill off any musical career with a satirical album "Live Libel" where they ridiculed (what were then) contemporary artists such as James Paler, Leonard Conman and Black Funk Rex. (the sleave notes are hilarious) Julie Covington did an album of their songs and they have a small but enthusiastic elitist cult following. Which includes myself and Stephen Fry.

I was forced to watch that awful film 300. In it the Spartan leader made some homophobic remark about Athenians. In point of fact all the Spartans were gay, it was compusarary. Your right hand held your sword, the left your shield which was used to protect not you but the guy on your left. It was thought that you were more likely to give your life for a lover than just a comrade. Unfortunately the long term results of this was the end of the Spartans. As it grew more and more difficult to persuade them to make love to their wives and their numbers dwindled.

UK law says you can use reasonable force. I am a joiner and having an axe in my bedroom is not premeditated. It is simply where I store my tools (I live in a flat)

@Soarfeet It is very much up to you. You say that he seems a kind and considerate man. He is if anything honest. It not for me to say go or stay. What can say is he may be worth letting himself explain. Who knows, a romantic trip to an animal rescue shelter may be on the cards. (If its rats then go for a small terrier type of dog).
